Innovation Lab Playbook: Fortune 50 Healthcare Insurer
Project Overview
A Fortune 50 Health Care Insurer had an Innovation Lab that was used by the Office of The CTO to evaluate and explore emerging technologies that would enable line of business to achieve objectives. The Lab had spent the better part of a year on designing the technical architecture for both an On-Premise Lab and multiple cloud-based Labs which they hosted across AWS, Azure and GCP.
The Challenges: At a foundational level, the Lab lacked a charter, governance, and operational policies and procedures. Additionally, they hadn’t defined a Go-to-market client engagement model that would provide a robust service delivery experience.
Our Solution
Upper 90 developed a 3 phased approach to operationalize the lab. We developed a robust Lab Service Catalog that were aligned with business objectives; detailed policies and procedures across Governance, Operations, Security and Reporting pillars; a revised Service Catalog of offerings that were aligned with business objectives, and a Client Integration and Marketing Model that would demonstrate the Labs Value Proposition, evangelize the Lab as a Service (LaaS) and incorporate a future state organizational and relationship management structure.
Client Outcome
The Lab now had an operational structure and playbook that would meet client requirements and allow the lab to deliver delightful outcomes.
